City Tower Manchester Re-rope

Elevated Engineering Services has recently replaced a set of 6 x 13mm x 300m ropes for City Tower. Piccadilly Plaza in Manchester. 

To complete these works our in-house scaffolding team installed our own design of single level Scaffold into the shaft enabling landing doors to be closed protecting engineers and building users alike.
During the works on site we fully inspected all associated Pulleys and Sheave for signs of wear and potential defects that may cause future breakdown or reliability issues.

New ‘Wedge” type anchorages and certified factory made ends were installed and all associated fixings and plates inspected for wear and signs of stress.

The work required a team of four and was completed from a Friday to a Monday over a weekend to minimise disruption on site.
