We are pleased to announce a successful week of work experience for 15-year-old Jacob Jackson this month.
Jacob attends Middleton Technology School and requested the placement as he is keen to pursue a career in Engineering. He completed a very busy week here learning, observing and taking part in activities throughout the business. This included working with Engineers on live jobs, assisting with motor winding, extracting bearings, motor testing, filing and de-burring and motor assembly. He also contributed with a variety of administrative duties, thereby developing an understanding of the internal processes involved in the smooth running of a business.
Jacob thanked us for the experience and said “I’ve really enjoyed it, and it’s been a learning curve to see all the different aspects of a business, and to be able to spend time with the Engineers on real jobs – so different from classroom work!”
At Elevated Engineering Services we are very aware of the need to plan for the future and ensure the continuity of our skilled workforce. We already employ Apprentices and are happy to accommodate school-age work experience placements to enable them to make a more informed choice of career.
