Condition Monitoring & Diagnostics
Infrared inspection to detect faults early and reduce unplanned downtime, identifying gearbox wear, predictive bearing failure, and electrical faults before they cause a breakdown.
What is thermography
As an object gets hotter it emits more radiation in the infrared part of the electromagnetic spectrum. Using an infrared camera, our engineers can measure the temperature of an object without contact, a technique known as infrared thermography. This gives a complete health check on gearboxes, motors, and electrical cabinets, enabling planned outages and repairs carried out over a weekend or during scheduled downtime, rather than as an emergency.
What it detects
- Hot spots in motor terminal boxes and connections
- Bad or loose electrical connections
- Gearbox wear and developing bearing failure
- Electrical faults inside cabinets, without needing to power down
Why trending matters
It is important to trend the size and shape of anomalies over time. Historical data helps identify a change in pattern, which enables you to establish a rate of possible deterioration, rather than reacting to a single reading in isolation.
More About It
- Site survey using calibrated infrared cameras, including inside electrical cabinets
- Anomalies recorded, classified, and compared against historical data where available
- Detailed report issued with recommended remedial action
- Work request raised and remedial action carried out
- Post-repair inspection to confirm the fault has been resolved and identify any deeper root cause
Why EES Electro-mechanical for Thermographic Surveys
- 12-month guarantee on all workshop overhaul repairs
- Detailed, trend-based reporting rather than one-off snapshots
- Root-cause investigation where anomalies are found, not just a temperature reading
- Experience across demanding, dirty, and high-load industrial environments
