Elevated Engineering Services NW not only supply and replace ropes but are also specialists in the supply and fitting of belts and traction diagnostics for all manufacturers.
It’s quite well known in the Lift Industry, that from time to time there are unforeseen manufacturer issues occurring, causing damage to lift systems. One of which is the traction belts systems from various manufacturers that may have diagnostics and structural strength issues that are unique to each manufacturer.
Whilst the belts themselves seem reasonably reliable, engineers sometimes struggle in diagnosing why a belt has worn unevenly, excessively or jumped off a pulley and simply replace a belt without resolving the cause, only to find the fault reoccurs very soon afterwards.
Here at Elevated Engineering Services NW, we have experienced engineers who have come across many of these issues and have the expertise to diagnose the cause to the symptoms seen.
We also have experience in repairing such issues.
We have recently seen a few twisted mobile traction beams which have caused belts to jump from the pulleys. One customer, after a failed repair for a jumping belt, called us to find why the issue persisted.
On investigation we found that the traction beam on the car was twisted, knocking the pulleys on the car out of line. After ordering upgraded replacement parts from a third-party supplier, we were able to carry out a repair, which although not straightforward as we need to suspend the car and difficulty to gain access to components etc; we managed to resolve the issue and we have had no further issues with excessive, uneven belt wear or jumping belts.
